I didn’t like the first book – the characters were flat and uninteresting even downright annoyingand I didn’t hnted I’d pick up anything else in this series at all.
Yet I was intrigued by Sylvan. He seemed to have a little more depth than Baird, and Sophie had a bit of fire in the first book.
Just so you know. Sophie lost any ounce of respectability that she had gained in Book 1. Far from being feisty and There is clearly something wrong with me. Far from being feisty and opinionated, she became a simpering damsel that was determined not to see the truth in front of her.
She’s afraid of needles due a childhood illness that meant regular blood transfusionsso she’s too terrified of Sylvan’s teeth to move their relationship forward.
Sylvan tells her it won’t hurt, her sister’s own experiences show her the same. She spends the book on the receiving end of some wonderfully written not-quite sex, yet she can’t bring herself to feel anything at all for the poor man that has to do it all to save her. Something else that irks me, to be honest.
Is that all these warriors do to solve problems? Where did they go? To top it all off, she’s had a traumatic sexual experience in her past which means she is not interested in men, thankyouverymuch. Did the author simply pick the most stereotypical history to explain Sophia’s aversion to all things Sylvan? He has fangs, so she’s afraid of pointy things. Kindred are all about the sex, so let’s make her not want that either.
Do you really need to re-use that? Am I to expect that in the rest of the books? Needless to say, apparently that one true moment will cure any woman of an aversion to anything. Moving on to Sylvan. Such potential and angst, wrapped up in an alien that might as well be a vampire. Yet I found his backstory – the whole reason for his surly demeanor – stale, boring and not really in keeping with the depth of emotions that these Kindred Warriors are supposed to have.
The story itself – I kept on forgetting I was reading a scifi novel. I wonder why the author didn’t just write a Paranormal Romance out of this instead. The sex scenes were well written.
I think when it comes down to it I’m really reading this series for them. No doubt I’ll find the same issues with the next book View all 3 comments.
Jun 11, Kathryn rated it it was ok Shelves: Hunted is book 2 in Anderson’s erotic sci-fi series. Having read book 1, I am not sure why I read book 2, except that I was in the mood for the type, the book was cheap, and I really wanted to turn off my brain and not think for awhile, which is a large reason why I read these types of books in the first place. I should have learned my lesson with the first book. This is what I call innocent erotica. It is not my favorite type.
The heroine is inexperienced and the final seduction scene nearly ma Hunted is book 2 in Anderson’s erotic sci-fi series.
The heroine is inexperienced and the final seduction scene nearly made me want to rate the entire book 1 star. Anderson’s story telling leaves much to be desired. Her characters are shallow. Sophia was one of my least favorite female characters ever.
She was incredibly stupid. I really wanted the her to die. Too bad the story did not turn into a horror novel. There was more potential for horror than romance.
Sylvan was not as bad of a character, barely. I quickly became sick and tired of his oaths – I swear to protect you, I swear to leave you alone, blah, blah, blah I also disliked the dream sequences.
I feel like this with all of these types of books but it was particularly annoying here. But I continued to read because of that whole turn off the brain bit, no problem in that area, and I liked the potential story of Kat and the Scourge. I’m guessing those will be books 3 and 4, so I may break down and read those in a moment of weakness when they are published. Jul 31, Carolyn F. Sophia is claustrophobic, scared of needles, scared of blood, scared of heights, big dogs and haunted house carnival rides.
Something bad happened in her past, but the way she’s freaking out about everything, including squeaking constantly when she accidentally touches a scrape is getting a little irritating.
And poor Sylvan, everytime she looks at him it’s in fear or terror. Even when he’s trying to comfort her after she goes to him!

Why do these brothers have to be torture Sophia is claustrophobic, scared of needles, scared of blood, scared of heights, big dogs and haunted house carnival rides. Why do these brothers have to be tortured by being attracted to such basket-cases?
Olivia was just as much a hurtful freak. Then Sophia finally starts to want Sylvan and makes him lick all her rashes. It was one of the grossest sex scenes I’ve ever read. The book ends with the third huntde who seemed the most reasonable of the three disliking these twin guys for doing a psychic link to save Sophia that has made her know their thoughts and even though this has never happened to them bj, she’s angry that it’s happening at all and they must be to blame.
I loved Planet X by this author but this bride series is getting on my nerves. Roll your eyes comment: What are her qualifications? Where did she do her residency? View all 4 comments.
