However, the flash cards do not include what the root of the word is; a piece of information that I was constantly thinking garmmar when learning new vocabulary words. You can learn Greek on your own, using this book! I definitely recommend this set! I am learning Greek to better understand God’s word, not bby to pass a test or increase knowledge. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. So, while these flashcards are nice, the software almost makes them obsolete unless you really like the physical version.

I would recommend it as a primary Greek Grammar textbook, or if one wishes to use a more technical Greek Grammar wlliam as “Learn to Read New Testament Greek”, then this makes for a nice supplemental textbook to give students another encouraging approach at Greek grammar.

This is, in my humble opinion, the best Greek Grammar for first year students. I would hope that the next time these are printed this will be fixed for future users. I really enjoyed how he kept the proper motivation in front of me at all times. This text is heavy on pattern recognition, not brute memorization. I have no complaints about the amount or lack of vocabulary, or ot fact that nouns and verbs are divided up. I used this book for my first year of Greek in Bible College and it was easy to sue when I was tutoring 1st year Greek students since the chapters were laid out well. Anyone who knows Greek will tell you that you must keep your vocabulary fresh.
But, what I am saying is that this Grammar was excellent to work through. Mounce provided excellent descriptions of what he is doing and why he does it. I love the incentives the author gives for studying each chapter by means of written examples by preachers and teachers showing the importance of each grammatical point for exegetical study. He will also give you examples of things williaj will learn later on in the book and tell you not to try to learn them yet since, “They are given just to expose you to the concepts.
